| Hahaha. I understood every other word but got a good ol' explanation/translation of the gabay from elders who were around. If only someone would be so kind to translate this. It would be nice for people who lack the ability to speak or understand af-Somali :D. |

| No. There many types of Somali poety. There is Gabay, Guuroow, Jiifto, Masafo, Geeraar and so on. They are all collectively known as Maanso, although some times the Jiifto is called Maanso. Each of these poetry have it's own rules. Anyway this is example of what gabay is: Nin libaax ku gowriirsadoo, garabku hooseeyo Oo u guudka kala saaran yahay, miciyo gaal-leefa Hadaan guutadiisii ka celin, gucumaloow Aarka Soow inuu go'aa lama ogoon galawdu raageynin |

| The Guuroow is strictly speaking same as the gabay. The only difference is Guuroow has it's own way to deliver. This is Jiifto: - Nin qabyaalad doojoow Doqonniimo waa cudur Haddii aad dux leedahay bal docdaada uun eeg. -- Geeraar have also it's rule or labadhac. |
