Watch a video of reconstruction of Serejeka-Shebah, depending entirely on Eritrea's own resources, which is one of the great examples of "a nation making it happen" and an indication where this great country is heading. This area is also one of the main Eritrea's tourist attractions. Since the reconstruction of this road in July 2006, Semenawi-bahri has been visited by thousands of people include from other parts of the world.
Simon Mesfun of shaebia.com writes "Semenawi-Bahri has a rich variety of birds, trees and wild animals and the Ministry of Tourism is working hard for their conservation. People who enjoy climbing can also make the best of the area as in the 40 kilometer Weki-Solomuna segment alone there is a 2350 difference in altitude." Simon also reports recreation and picnic areas have been established in Mugoo, Sabur and Medhanit. Adding to the natural beauty of the area, additional tourist attractions include the natural hot springs at Mai-Wu'uy.
Eritrea's abundant natural attractions include • Beaches: • National Parks • Bird life • Wildlife • Scenic areas • Marine life • Hot springs • Danakil Depression 100 metres below sea level • Great valley rift • eastern Escarpment descending from 2000 metres to the coastal plains • Dahlak Archipelago with over 350 islands and its undersea wonders. Eritrea Heritage Tourism includes great Archaeological heritage, Eritrean Railway (one of the oldest in the world), Industrial past, Cuisine and culture.
