I had just found out (from my oldest brother, who knows more about my family history than anyone in the family), told me that my Grandma was also a Nez Perce Indian too. Both her parents were full-blood Cherokee and Nez Perce. And that she had named me "Shining Star" when I was born (my dad and oldest brother were there when she named me). How cool is that??!!

As far as I'm concerned America, Canada, Alska, and South America are still being trepassed upon by terrorists. I think Native Americans should be the most prominent in these countries.

You can't confuse success with genocide. These butchers have survived by this type of lifestyle long before those rogue colonies ever set foot on this soil. They still commit atrocities to this date. Just look at Iraq. 1.5 million ppl dead since the invasion. A zebra can't change it's colors and they same can be said about America. It's the Devils playground, not to be confused with being in any way prominent.

Yeah, your right. He's right then. I feel bad that blacks got equality (somewhat) but the Natives really are never heard in the media when it comes to their problems.
Yeah, The ... ( 3 weeks ago by Bearwolfwitch)
Yeah, The government are not going to grant the natives their freedom from the reservation because that way they will not be able to keep them down and control them. It's about time the govenment let all the native indians roam around the land just like any other person born in the USA.

O-si-yo! Excellent! ... ( 2 weeks ago by joseftnix)
O-si-yo! Excellent! The Cherokee are a NATION, not a race. Some estimates put the number of full blood Europeans sent packing on the Trail of Tears at 20%. Blood quantum is a federal imposition under the Dawes roll. The Cherokee NATION was sent to Oklahoma. Tens of thousands of mixed bloods were able to stay and their descendents, now in the hundreds of thousands, are still here and, no, they're not wannabes, just conscious of their roots...

I am not of Cherokee ancestry, but my Better Half is and his comment: "they'll never understand that the medicine man works in oncology, his tee-pee is a split level, his pony an SUV, his buckskins bought at the mall, his wampum invested on Wall Street, his Gr-at Sp-rit is Nicene Creed, his "special" music Sibelius and his "special" food Szechuan. We have overcome and I don't have to wear a feather to prove I'm an Indian."
