| Your argument is pretty standard and is flawed Good, your logical fallacy is to apply god of the gaps reasoning in the mistaken belief that it disproves evolution. You are completely ignorant of science and should get some sort of education before coming on this thread and talking nonsense. Science works by coming up with theories which are then tested and rejected when falsified, evolution hasn't been falsified yet. Your 40 years of isolated "study" has left you a bit out of touch with reality. |

If you creationists are going to attack science you really should learn a bit about it first. | I feel sorry for the Irish dood but Mr. Dawkins is right. In America you have the right to belive in whatever you want, and thats fine. But don't make laws like marriage or something else out of religion and put it into a society that is run by man's law, not god's law. Politicians only say they belive in god and "traditional family values" because it's good demographics and makes people "feel good" about their choice, neither candidate has less or more integrity than the other. |

| Laws should be based upon what is real and what is good for the whole of the society. We all know that scientifically humans are both male and female and in order for a human child to develope properly they need a good example, roll models, of both to have their psyche balanced. That is why promoting mom and dad in balance and working together is the ideal. So marriage is not based on religion, but on human nature and protecting the children from imbalances of the male female. |

Of course all science starts with the educated guess. Then we do experiments to test the hypothesis. That is what an experiment is. These tests either support or contradict the hypothesis. |

| Example: Chromosome 2 fusion. Hypothesis: If we share a common ancestor with chimps, a chromosome must have fused. We should be able to detect this. Test: We looked for evidence of fusion. Chromosome 2 showed clear evidence: Extra centromeres and telomeres. The telomeres, which go on the end, were in the middle. Also, parts of this chromosome matches two chimp chromosomes. Overwhelming evidence of fusion and common ancestory. There are no other explanations. Hypothesis is supported. |

| I agree laws should reflect the times but lets not forget, marriage came from religion. Social scientist will tell you that it use to be one man, many women throughout alot of history. Because 74% of America is Christian, most people here would support "traditional family values" or one man, one women marriage. I'm saying politicians say it because it's popular here in America. If you were in a Muslum country, it would be different and more like our ancestors, one man, many women. |
