Google engineer Brad Fitzpatrick gives an introduction to the Social Graph API. The Social Graph API makes information about the public connections between people more easily available. Developers can query this public information to offer their users dramatically streamlined "add friends" functionality and other useful features.

Umm, dstodril id thieves are all around dude. Perhaps if you are so freaked out by them, don't go on the internet at all. Also if you have a bank account, they've hacked those too, as is the case with Barclays chairman Marcus Agius, so don't put your money in a bank, don't use credit cards. Don't ever use your real name not only on the internet but everywhere you go, right?

This is a great idea, it allows better access for the users to network together, as well as allowing the Google search bots to easily index all this information. But somehow after seeing this video I heard the Portal voice in the background say, "Are you still there?"

I absolutely agree. Until another application builds or uses this type of link between sites, I don't see people actively invest efforts into a new networking site unless it serves a completely different purpose entirely...i.e. LinkedIn (which come to think of it, most people *shouldn't* link to their facebook page).

Fantastic! If I have a malformed understanding of how my blog links and blogrolls work, my friends can stalk me everywhere I go even if I don't want them to locate me on other social networks or be friends with me there.
