| Love the show's music - but there's something false about Garry. He waters down, cans & sells Appalachian music and life for the city masses - for his profit. I hear him in the AM reading poetry to his "we're marching off to Sunday School" piano music - but I never heard him say anything Christian. | Actually, I have a BA in English (SUNY) and a Masters in Arts to Teach English in NY. I also have 20 years as an infantryman and tank platoon sergeant. I play fiddle, celt, and bluegrass guitar and I work in a salt mine - and raised four kids pretty much alone. I also think for myself and I say Keillor's mainstream commercial watering down of blue-collar sweat and blood Appalachian and Celt music is just plain nasty. |

| Keillor reminds me of a few clueless and phony English professors from the university. He's the sort that wears his subject like a cheap Halloween costume while he spews out generic Americana to others who are also largely clueless. OK? His sort are offensive to the actual authors, artists, and true recipients of the literature and music art he profits from. He's a showman - but not an artist. |

| You seem very angry about all this. I don't think Keillor ever really claims to be an artist. He never seems to take himself particularly seriously. His show is a good platform for young talent, he's got a rather soothing voice, and some of the sketches are quite funny. I think you're taking offence to something that just isn't offensive at all. What do you mean by 'his sort'? Are there are a lot of Keillors running about? Personally, I think you should just leave people to enjoy what he does. |

| I see your point - why does Keillor's show persona bug me? I love the music and much of his show - there's just something untrue or shallow in his presentation. I also heard his former partner from the 70's rip him a new one as the show was nonprofit - but Keillor makes a pretty fat salary - and Keillor, as I recall, treated him pretty badly at that point - being put on the spot. I think that is when I started finding him phoney - but this is ONLY my opinion - that's all. I respect yours. |

Londinistan - yes, that is me expressing my sincere dismay at the cultural erasing of Britain by the mass influx of Mulsims & Islam. | Well, I am open minded enough to give him another chance. hahhahha! His endorsement of Obama was out of line though - I really think rich entertainer's political endorsements are about worthless - they are out of touch with mainstream reality - at the ground level where 95% of us exist. |
