| One of the most shameful episodes int he history of US warfare. The US troops got pinned down and decimated by enemies armed with RPGs and AK-47s cause they didn't have proper equipment, and in particular lacked armor. They had stupid unarmored and burning rubber-tired Humvee cars, instead. They had to call the Malaysians and Pakistanis to bail them out with their M113A1/2, M48 and M60 tracked tanks. What a shame ! And the army top brass hasn't learnt anything from this major fuckup, either ! |

| Too true Axel, remember the US bringing in Abrahams Main Battle Tanks in late 1993 (or maybe it was '94, memory gets dodgy with age!), filmed a unit of six of them heading towards 'Sword Base' (the old Soviet main factory for producing/readying tanks for use in the '60's + '70's in Angola/Mozambique/Ethiopia etc.). Out of the six, FOUR of them seized up because the engines had the wrong filters for desert warfare, not really 'rocket science' is it??. Lets all watch Iran end in tears shall we? |

Our troops came as generious friends trying to feed the starving children, women and the old, to rebuild bridges and water wells, but you poor SOBs showed NO RESPECT. | jacavender you are right Mogadishu and the south somalia are worse situations than when you left. Our problem is we dont know how to bring the peace we had almost 20yrs ago. somalis are suffering more now than when the Americans came to rescue us. The sad thing is no one in somalia seems to wanting peace. Everyear there is a new Islamists group who want to rule somali in their own way. Thank you for your cool video |
