You are trying to equate my statement, "I think your taking me too seriously. Especially noting how I ended the post." with your representation of it, "I will take you at your own word: your comments should not be taken seriously." You have generalized and exploded my statement beyond the scope of its intended focus. It seems that you're attempting undermine all my points when merely one of them was made, in passing, as a joke. You need some levity in your life.

All right...Some people simply like to argue. My original post merely complained that the video, while claiming to show a "birth," left out elements of the birth that would have been interesting and informative. I recommend to you that you take a copy of our little discussion to your psychologist, and have a talk about your personality...

"Some people simply like to argue." Arguments are good when people misrepresent your points/jokes. "My original post merely..." I am not contesting this idea. We share this in common; however, I find it silly to think about such things since orangutans have survived. "I recommend to you that you take a copy of our little discussion to..." Instead of addressing my points you simply insult me. This goes hand in hand with a mind of someone that generalizes to the point of absurdity.

HumanStrategy says: "I find it silly to think about such things..." And that's where your impertinence begins: Why is it necessary for you to define what is "silly" for others to think about? I can assure you that, during the period I studied for my PhD in molecular and cell biology, I knew MANY research scientists who spent virtually all their time thinking about such things (i.e., apparently contradictory biological observations).

The FACT remains that Orangutans do not use medical instruments nor tie knots in their offspring's umbilical cords to stem bleeding; but humans do. It would be interesting--not "silly"-- to learn more about the manner in which great apes other than humans deal with umbilical cords and attached placentas. You do not need to create LONG posting discussions just to state that such phenomena do not interest you. You should seek help in discovering why you need to waste other's time!
