Cho's former dorm mates (2005 and 2006), said Cho repeatedly listened to CS's "Shine" and He wrote "Shine song lyrics on the wall of his dorm. I didn't know the details of events until I looked it up. I was mistaken about details. |

| It didn't inspire him. I was mistaken. Apparently, he listened to the song over and over again. And wrote the lyrics on the wall of his dorm-so, his dormates said. But he did that a year ago, previous to the V-Tech murders. |

| I heard people at this site saying stuff like that and I believed it. But more recently I researched the issue and found out that; Cho was showing an obsession with the song A YEAR before he murdered those people. Even though a year passed before the murders alot of people thought it was a "Helter Skelter" type murder spree. |

| there were a lot of things with that kid like his imaginary girlfriend from space, saying his name is question mark, stalking women, and him being bullied and this song was just another thing weird with him i don't believe he murdered all those people just because of the song like charles manson did so he just had something wrong with him but was never fully diagnosed. |

| One very sad thing is that he wasn't fully diagnosed. And he obviously wasn't getting the treatment he needed. News people and media people should be more responsable and tell people if you know someone who's mentally disturbed you should try to get them in treatment. Where was Cho's support system? You don't have to like the guy. But you should care about what he's capable of. |

| helter skelter wasn't the reason manson killed all those people (or rather ordered them to be killed). manson was just plain messed up, in jail for half his life even before the manson family was started. even if he had never heard helter skelter he would have done the things he did. people often make the connection between the song and the killings, but the song is not the reason for the manson murders. either way, why is this being discussed here anyways? i say we should just enjoy the music. |

| of course he was messed up before the song was made but he twisted the lyrics in the song to tell his followers that the song told him that those people have to be killed and im sure he was well aware of his manipulation and that the song was not at all meant that but used it to manipulate his victims. |
