| I don't think the caller was dumb. He was at least trying to make sense of and explain his belief, but it ultimately ended where he failed. That's more than most Christians ever attempt. You can't say there's a good reason for believing something without reason. It's a logical fallacy. That one... I think he has the makings of a true atheist. Maybe deep down within, but still there, ready to burst forth into a gelatinous goo, oozing enlightenment. The seeds of doubt have been planted. |

| I don't believe in religion at all, and don't believe in a Christian God or similar omnipotent being per se. However, I am convinced that there is a spiritual - or otherwise interconnected non-physical - realm that exists in parallel to the physical realm based upon my personal experiences that go beyond simple faith. While I am still highly skeptical, certain events that have occurred in my life lead me to believe that there is more out there due to direct, personal experience. |

| Seconded. I have many dear friends and family who are "people of faith" and am willing to accept them on that basis. But when people like this caller confuse faith with empirical evidence (proving the existence of God and Australia are the same proposition?!), they need a hard dose of logic. The hosts of this show are a refreshing change from most of the television we get around here. |

| Because despite their intelligence, their need for "something more" is there, and for them, believing a lie and brainwashing yourself to believe it's true is better than just see what the world really is.
