| I grew up in the West but in the past several years I've been trying to perfect my Somali reading/writing skills. In order to learn Somali it's essential to understand the songs, poems, etc. They're an integral part of the language's fundamentals. I've plenty of Somali songs on my ipod and therefore, I've become versed in them, not because I possess extra ability in deciphering them. Somali is easy if you make the effort, I think.
