| Nah, a lot of it is very basic... I mean the riffs (or chord progressions). Yeah "3 chords" may be an exaggeration, but not too far off. Most rock in general is like this. You'd be hard off finding a good rock song where the verse or chorus is based of more than 3-5 chords. Metal and classical tend to be the genres where you see things run all over the place.. much more advanced. All are very good! |

| You're misinterpreting my comment. I fully agree that music is about expression, and that the number of chords or the technicality of the music is not important at all! I was only saying that.. actually yes.. as a musician I can tell you most "grunge" or in fact most rock songs mainly consist of maybe 3-5 chords. My point was that arguing over the number of chords played in the song is ridiculous. It is indeed about the emotion, and the over-all aesthetic of the song. Not the technicality. |
