I completely agree that many Muslims don't do what they're obliged to do. Needless to say, you cannot judge Islam by its followers' behaviour. We cannot say, for example, that Christianity is bad or bloody becuase of the US gov. barbarism. Have you got my point?

You were clear. But to think that men have more resposabilities in a family than women is something that was considered true hundreds of years ago. In a modern society today men and women SHARE (50/50) equal responsabilities in the family. I understand your argument, I am just trying to tell you how things work in a modern society. With all due respect Muslim societies aren't exactly the most modern and ground breaking in the world.. But you will get there in time. We have been where you are.

Oh but you can - and you should! If not judging by the religious sect's actions, then by what standard? Christianity in the US has indeed taken a turn towards violence, ignorance and hatred - mostly towards you guys I'm afraid. The answer, though, you come up with to these attacks are unfortunately also through violence, hatred and ignorance. I think by 50/50 you mean in terms of income because the west is so into consumption that both parents are forced to work and who raises the kids? Yet a woman is still expected to do the house work and tend to the children. I know this is not the case in every home but it is the average. On the contrary I think more responsibility is put on women in the west! So this is want you want for us, to be overworked? Hm sounds a little oppressing. No wonder women are derpessed more in the west.

I'm sry to say that i do think women in the west are oppressed, mainly on the aspects of beauty. I do not like the Saudi gov, they are oppressive to some extent I agree with you. But these things have nothing to do with Islam which allows women to leave and to transport themselves idenpendently. Those are laws unique to that country. Islamically they are also not allowed to force Islamic laws upon their non-muslim citizens which they do.Every gov. is corrupt,none apply Islamic law completely

I made a mistake, the gov. law that women can't leave also applys in Afghanistan but that's an even worse example of Islam. I don't know any other place that does this. So 2 out of how many Muslim countries do it.

Just because the gov is corrupt doesn't mean the ppl are. There are good people and bad people. People that oppress, people that do not. In general Muslim women around the world get most of their rights Islam gives them. And without having to fight for them like Americans did less than 100 yrs ago! Islam is a one way street against women. For example regarding punishment and so on - It just seems to me there are a lot of rules against what women can and should do, but none that penalize men from actually being the CAUSE of these punishments. Take covering up your whole body/head and hair for example. This can't be fun.. As I understand it, it is to protect women from the preying eyes of men. Well - then blindfold the horny dogs that can't control themselves - don't punish the women??!!

This Hijab is what God says is modest in Christianity and Judaism as well. But the difference is WHY it's applied. Hijab (covering of your body) is there so women can be looked at for their intelect and character and not be judged by they're beauty. Yes it can protect them from dirty men also, but in Islam they are instructed to lower their gaze and not stare no matter what she is wearing. No,I suggest that there is absolutely nothing wrong in looking at a woman in the first place!Why all this punishment? And the thing about her intellect is so far fetched since,only recently women in Islam have even been ALLOWED to study,so that surely doesn't impress me as an excuse. Most women don't want men starring at them! There is no such thing as something recently changing in Islam. We can't add any hadith. And the Quran ORDERS men and WOMEN to seek knowledge! Sex is completely normal and completely acceptable just within marriage! Circumsion is clean for a man and not required for a women unless she wants to for her own reasons!

There's even a hadith that says a man should stay with his wife during sex until she is satisfied! How is that being afraid! All it does is acknowledge a women's sexuality and her right to sex. Don't confuse us with Christians who look down on sex! BASICALLY don't learn about Islam from sources that aren't Islamic! We are not talking about the teachings - we are talking about the actions! I'm sorry if I have you confused with another one in here - but I believe I mentioned that before. Hiding behind the teachings does not change the factual actions that every religion both promotes and condones. There is no circumcision of little girls in Islam. Some countries still practice it but it is PRE-Islamic! and they ignorantly haven't gotten rid of it. There is no such thing as racism either. And you can't just look at the actions because the only things that stand out and get spread around are the bad things! Women are not allowed to be beaten up!, women have been allowed to vote since the beginning, over 1400 yrs ago. But American women had to go out in the street and fight for it for the 19th amendment i.e. 1920!!! And executions are under strick rules only and to prevent crimes.
